Show Canada team has accomplished another beautiful and creative piece of art with this curved and irregular three story staircase within the residence of a NYC client. With two flights and two landings it is made of brass, steel, wood and plaster. The most challenging achievement was the perfect integration with the surrounding architectural work (curved walls, HVAC systems and hand crafted wood claddings and floors) and the very high-end finish expected by the designers, which included a complex artistic technique to age the brass surfaces. Another challenge we had to face was the restraint accessibility to the building. All pieces were assembled on site after being loaded on an 82cm wide elevator. The whole assembly was engineered and certified to comply with the requirements of the New York Building Code.
